Stevie & Thomas

I was excited about this wedding from the very beginning! We met Thomas as a Main Street Farmer’s Market customer a while back when he would buy flowers for Stevie each week (hello chivalry)! I met Stevie to walk the farm that Thomas’ family owns where they planned to host the wedding, with all of the amazing vendors involved, and I knew this was a great fit! I quickly fell in love with the beautiful farm, Rising Fawn Gardens, which has a beautiful view of the western side of Lookout Mountain. At the farm, they specialize in ginger, turmeric and blueberries and host yoga retreats and events at their pavilion and Yoga House. It was so enchanting! And the moment I heard “in the middle of a wheat field”, I was set.

This wedding is another great example of tailoring their day to fit their style and personality. What comes to mind is how thoughtful all their details were. Stevie and Thomas had their ceremony with just a few of their loved ones and friends, tucked away in a small clearing next to a creek on the property. After their ceremony, they headed over to the Yoga House for cocktail hour where their guests were lounging around ready to start the party. (See the picture of how adorable Stevie is with her dress on the back of a vintage motorcycle with their dog in a sidecar! I mean, come on!).

Once dinner was ready, Stevie and Thomas led the charge and walked down the path through the wheat to their beautiful reception area. Food was an important detail for them so they had the chef from St. John’s Restaurant, Rebecca Barron, create and prepare their menu utilizing local and seasonal ingredients. Do you see how beautiful that meal looked?!

It was truly a joy to design for this wedding because I have such a soft spot for unique venues like this one, especially one that has so much meaning to the couple. And the color palette that we chose with Stevie allowed us to put a spotlight on seasonal flowers in May. Some flowers featured from the farm were poppies, foxglove, campanula, ranunculus, anemones, orlaya, queen anne’s lace, and seasonal grasses. We got to forage the farm and include the wheat and other elements in their design. Oh, and lets not forget that amazing FLOWER CROWN! How beautiful and stunning is Stevie in each and every picture. This wedding remains one of my favorite still!

Anyway - enough gushing. See for yourself with these images by Our Ampersand Photo.
