Margaux & Kellan

A Lookout Mountain intimate wedding at a stunning private residence in the Spring.

We are continuing the theme of looking back to our past weddings and this one goes way back to what seems like forever ago. But it still stands out in my mind as one of the most beautiful intimate weddings I’ve done. Long before Covid made intimate a must, Kellan and Margaux decided to keep things small with their closest friends and family. But that didn’t mean they couldn’t be surrounded by tons of flowers, am I right?

I met Margaux through the flower farming world so she had a deep respect for seasonal and local. Her mother also had a beautiful rose garden full of heirloom roses so she wanted to incorporate garden roses in her design which I sourced from Grace Rose Farm. Today you can find the green thumb duo selling plants and blooms on the cutest flower truck in Memphis, TN - check them out at June Wren Flowers (@junewrenflowers on instagram). Also - how stunning is Margaux?!

The wedding was in the early Spring here so along with the garden roses, I was able to incorporate ranunculus, gorgeous double tulips, foxglove, spirea, and poppies from the farm. I also foraged the most beautiful fringe tree and mock orange from a friends farm. One element that is only around for just a bit is the just emerging oak leaves that have just a hint of rusty pink in them. Scroll down for the most cozy looking celebration.

The ceremony was in the home’s meditation garden on the bluff overlooking the valley with sedum lining the stones. We got creative and constructed the arbor out of branches to give a unique, growing-out-of-the-garden feel, like you’ve stepped into another world. Large boulders surrounded the meditation garden and there were paths winding around and below the area, showing off different elements of the landscape.

The reception was inside the home and the dinner was prepared by Easy Bistro on site. I really do love how all the guests were able to gather around one table together.
